Job Description

Senior Media Director

Location: Toronto, ON

Department: Media & Advertising

Reports To: SVP, Media

Lead Media Into the Future of Entertainment

At Innocean Canada, we believe media is more than just where you show up—it’s how you show up and why your audience cares.

We’re looking for a Senior Media Director to join our growing, award-winning team and lead media strategy for one of the most exciting entertainment brands in North America. This is a senior leadership role for someone who can drive real business impact, build bold, culture-forward media plans, and lead top talent through change and growth.

We’re not a siloed media agency—we're part of a fully integrated creative ecosystem. From strategy to production, digital to data science, we build work that’s cohesive, performance-driven, and designed to move audiences.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Leadership

  • Architect full-funnel media strategies that push boundaries and deliver results.
  • Bring sharp thinking across channels—digital, traditional, social, programmatic, and whatever’s next.
  • Fuel innovation for title launches and year-round audience engagement in a fast-paced, high-volume category.

Client & Business Growth

  • Be the senior point of contact for our marquee entertainment client.
  • Build trust and provide smart counsel on media strategy, emerging opportunities, and performance.
  • Identify growth opportunities and support new business pitches and initiatives.

Team Development & Mentorship

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing cross-functional media team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and accountability.
  • Champion career growth, continuous learning, and creative thinking.

Executional Excellence

  • Ensure flawless execution of campaigns—from planning and buying to performance and wrap.
  • Work closely with creative, strategy, and content teams to bring integrated campaigns to life.
  • Use insights and data to continuously optimize performance and drive ROI.

Innovation & Industry Leadership

  • Stay plugged into the evolving entertainment and media landscape—platforms, audiences, tools, and culture.
  • Be a thought leader internally and externally, representing Innocean at key events and forums.
  • Champion new ways of working and experimentation that keep us ahead of the curve.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of media strategy, planning, and leadership experience, ideally in entertainment or high-velocity categories.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale, complex campaigns and budgets.
  • Strong financial acumen and results-focused mindset.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and inspiring diverse teams.
  • Deep channel fluency—TV, digital, social, programmatic, and everything in between.
  • Executive-level communication skills and an ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Passion for pop culture, entertainment, and making audiences feel something.

Who You Are

  • A challenger mindset with vision and edge.
  • Obsessed with excellence, creativity, and accountability.
  • Data-driven, insight-hungry, and results-focused.
  • Collaborative and ego-free.
  • A leader who inspires confidence, builds trust, and brings people along.

Why Innocean?

We’re not like other agencies.

We think like explorers.

We operate with intention.

And we build brands that matter.

On top of it all, we’re people-first and proud to be recognized by ‘Great Places to Work’ (four years in a row and counting!) overall, as well as for Youth, Inclusion, and as a Best Place to Work for Women.

At Innocean, you’ll be part of a high-performance culture that values smart thinking, bold creativity, and supportive people who genuinely care. We win together, and we grow together. Let’s build something unforgettable.

Apply now. Let’s reimagine what media can do.
