Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to lead hands-on procurement operations for a growing medical device company, managing both local purchasing and international logistics. The Procurement Specialist will coordinate the sourcing of mechanical and electronic components, ensuring timely delivery from suppliers in Japan and China to domestic and overseas facilities.

Description

Source and procure mechanical and electronic components (valves, pumps, sheet metal, resin boards, and machined parts) for medical devices.

Coordinate shipments from Japan to China HQ and domestic factories, managing customs clearance, logistics, and delivery schedules.

Receive, inspect, and manage incoming parts from China to domestic facilities.

Support trade and logistics operations, including collaboration with shipping agents and freight forwarders.

Handle back-office procurement tasks such as purchase order creation, supplier communication, and documentation.

Ensure compliance with internal processes and support process improvements for efficient operations.

Profile

3-5+ years of procurement experience, ideally with mechanical components or within the medical device industry.

Strong operational mindset with experience in cross-border logistics, customs, and freight forwarding.

Fluent in Japanese and Chinese (business level), with English reading/writing ability.

Ability to work independently in a small team while coordinating with multiple stakeholders across countries.

Knowledge of Japan-based suppliers and understanding of supply chain processes.

Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
