Position Overview:

St. John United Holy Church is prayerfully seeking a Pastor to lead our congregation in spiritual growth, discipleship, and community engagement. We are seeking an individual who has at least 5 years of Pastoral ministry and leadership experience. The applicant must demonstrate a commitment to fostering spiritual growth within the church executive board and the congregation of the church, as well as a dedication to doctrinal integrity with a gospel centric focus on church life and community building. A faithful, and visionary leader to shepherd our church and uphold our historical heritage while guiding us into a thriving future. The applicant must be led by the Holy Spirit and willing to learn and adhere to the beliefs, doctrines, and principles of The United Holy Church of America, Inc.

Responsibilities:

· Provide sound biblical preaching and teaching based on the Word of God.

· Lead the congregation in regular worship services, prayer, and spiritual formation.

· Oversee the administration of ordinances (e.g., baptism and communion).

· Foster discipleship and spiritual growth among church members.

· Offer pastoral care, including visitation, counseling, and support during life events.

· Lead in evangelistic outreach and community engagement initiatives.

· Supervise and mentor church executive board, ministry leaders, and lay members.

· Lead the church’s operations and provide oversight for its financial and administrative functions in collaboration with the church executive board based upon local church by laws and United Holy Church by laws and manual of standard procedure.

· Promote unity within the congregation and actively engage in conflict resolution as needed.

· Represent the church in local and denominational events, fostering relationships with other churches and organizations.

Qualifications:

· Spiritual Calling: A clear and confirmed calling to Pastoral ministry.

· Experience: A minimum of 5 or more years of Pastoral Ministry.

· Biblical Leadership: Demonstrates the qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9, including integrity, humility, and a servant’s heart.

· Teaching Ability: Spiritually gift in preaching and teaching the Word of God with clarity, relevance, and depth.

· Visionary Leadership: Able to cast and implement a God-inspired vision for the church’s future.

· Pastoral Care: Strong skills in counseling, mentoring, and providing spiritual guidance. Hospitable and approachable with excellent interpersonal skills.

· Prayer: Able to lead the church in prayer and actively seek God.

· Administrative Skills: Competence in organizational management, financial stewardship, and strategic planning.

· Community Engagement: A heart for outreach and commitment to serving the needs of the congregation and local community.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
