Role Responsibilities:

The Medical Associate/CNA will work collaboratively within a dedicated team that includes RNs, LPNs, Counselors, Case Managers, Residential Service Associates, Peer Support Workers, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting patients with daily living activities.
  • Measuring and recording vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate, while promptly reporting findings to RNs/LPNs.
  • Monitoring patient behavior and health, reporting any changes to the medical staff.
  • Ensuring patient safety by examining for injuries and reminding patients about medication schedules.
  • Collecting patient information from interdisciplinary team members to support care coordination.
  • Overseeing patient self-administration of medications in compliance with prescriber orders.
  • Reviewing dietary restrictions and coordinating special diet requests with nursing staff.
  • Complying with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Staying current on CNA training, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitoring the administration of medications to ensure compliance and accurate documentation.
  • Assisting in emergency situations according to established protocols, including basic first aid and CPR.
  • Assisting with the intake process where necessary.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  2. Certification as a Nursing Assistant.
  3. Ability to pass the internal Medical Associate Certification administered by SFRC.
  4. Current CPR certification.
  5. A valid and insurable Driver's License based on SFRC insurance standards.
