. This role is akin to being a Captain on a team in team sports, meaning, the Captain is also one of the players, and is in the game with their team. This role involves Stick and Tig Welding and Fabrication, with and without blueprints. This role also will be cross trained with our Hydro Blast team, undertaking in situ High Pressure (HP) Hydro Blasting and Ultra-High Pressure (UHP) Hydro blasting utilizing patented Tube Tech robotics and equipment. The position requires 75% travel, including international travel and must be able to work in Oil and Gas facilities.
General Purpose of the Position: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality programs and policies. Responsible for and actively manages IGS field services personnel and communications with clients while building and maintaining interpersonal relationships. Serves as a specialized resource within Hot-Tek/Tube tech (Americas) field services personnel, possessing and implementing unique skills or knowledge to support Hot-tek/Tube tech applications in specific client facilities or using specialized Hot-Tek/Tube tech equipment. Support customer relations and communication, scope and quality management, demobilization, and post project review for Hot Tek and Tube Tech projects from a site location within the quoted time and budget. Understand IGS product and service offerings and how they relate to solving client problems for customer equipment and processes; support growth of strong customer relationships.
Provides feedback to IGS management team for safety, quality and technical training needs. Supports IGS strategic growth objectives through execution of quality projects that directly impact the scalability and efficacy of IGS. Works under the direction of the assigned Team Leaders and Project Manager while on the project. Acts as a liaison to the Team Leaders and Project Manager for specialized field of knowledge, identifying additional work and upsell opportunities based on industry experience.
Critical Success Factors: - Accountable for ensuring that site operations are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with all IGS and customer-specific safety standards and procedures.
- Utilizes interface occasions to provide the customer with information regarding IGS's value, differentiation, and potential upsell opportunities, networks with customers to identify future opportunities on the current project as well as other projects both within and outside their fleet
- Perform specialty Hot-tek/Tubetech work, including but not limited to preliminary inspections, operation of specialist application equipment, and industry-specific activities
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with project specification, quality control plan and IGS Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
- Understands how losses in efficiency, consumable usage, and waste effect gross margin of the project and adversely affect project bonus payments
- Manages workflow through Team Leaders to gain both effectiveness and efficiency
- Coaches and mentors Team Leaders as necessary
- Performs all reporting and administrative tasks in an expedient and accurate manner
- Conduct is professional at all times through personal adherence and coaching of Team Leaders in the use of IGS Values (the IGS Way)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Project Planning (in Collaboration with the Operations Manager): - Communicate resource requirements
- Oversees travel, lodging and other personnel logistics or aids Team Leaders and/or Project Managers as needed
- Verifies resource availability and identifies/addresses deficiencies to ensure appropriate levels of personnel are assigned to the project
- Requests project equipment, materials and consumables from internal resource providers
- Aids the TL/PS with Team schedule & confirms departures and arrivals as needed.
- Obtain required customer approvals and signatures on project-specific requirements.
On-Site Project Engineering: - Responsible for on-site quality management.
- Manage project scope and manage scope change with regards to client communication and technical and/or quality impacts.
- Assist Project Manager with schedule management, progress tracking and projections.
Project Execution: - Assist with management of work within the scope of the contract
- Assist with management of critical path schedule
- Assist with management of equipment specifications, materials, and consumables on site
- Technical guidance of 5 to 12-man crew
- Approve man-hours on weekly timesheets for payroll and helps Team Leaders with completion of timesheets
- Understand IGS and customer health & safety policies, guidelines, and procedures, and ensure compliance
- Assist with technical on-site client communication.
- Progress Management - Updating Tubesheet layout / Progress Maps
- Coordinate final inspection by customers and external inspectors
- Must be able to repair and maintain equipment during operation
- Must be able to inspect and identify unsafe conditions
- Must be self-motivated
Equipment and Processes Support: - Understand IGS product and service offerings
- Perform quality inspections, as needed, of the solution provided
- Analyze quality data and communicate recommended solutions with the IGS Engineering department based on the results
- Understand equipment operation and requirements for repair and maintenance, and provides guidance and/or assistance as needed to teams
- Plan, execute, and support technical internal/external projects.
- Participate in new product development and commissioning
- Repair and maintenance of equipment
- Support training activities
- Use judgment in dealing with what are often complex and difficult technical problems to determine root cause and deploy solutions
- Demonstrate a strong "customer service" attitude regarding communication and project completion through balanced updates and maximization of productivity
- Understand which decision makers are to be brought into any issue outside of individual control
Business Development Support: - Attend client equipment inspections
- Scope and communicate additional project opportunities discovered on-site
- Accompany sales personnel for site visits
- Operational evaluation of opportunities
Skills and Abilities Required: - Problem solving and trouble shooting.

Effort/Working Conditions: - Job is performed in a challenging environment in various client facilities, which include but are not limited to refineries, paper mills, and power plants in both the USA and international locations
- Difficult working conditions characterized by long hours with 12-hour shifts
- Work on project sites is often performed in full personal protective equipment
- Must be physically able to move in and out of confined spaces and work at heights.
- 4 to 7 months of extensive travel, including international travel, most projects are 2-6 Weeks in duration
Education and Experience Required: - Experience with specialized technology-based field services operations servicing Petro Chemical industries is preferred
- 1-3 years' progressive responsibility in site responsibility and on-site management required.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- 2-5 Years hands-on management of craftsmen (proven track record in effectively managing small and medium-sized projects required)
- 5+ Years of turnaround experience (experience with the operations and environments of chemical and petroleum industry facilities)
- NACE CIP Level 1 and 2 is an advantage
Backgrounds: - Be active in our main DISA drug screen policies including our Urine & Alcohol and Hair Follicle tests.
- Be able to clear any other project specific drug screen as needed.
- Have an acceptable Criminal Background to be able to access our strictest client sites including Canada and/or not have a DISA background score higher than 2.
- Have a Valid US Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
- Have a Valid TWIC Card.
- Have a Valid Passport (US or Foreign).
- Be able to pass site-specific testing (such as Basic Plus or other general safety and site knowledge tests.
