Staff Accountant
Plano, TX – hybrid, onsite 2-3 days/month

Compensation: $80K + bonus

One of Vaco's manufacturing subsidiaries with parent company operations across the world is looking to onboard a Staff Accountant. This will report to a Controller that Vaco recently placed and will pivot between full cycle accounting and more transactional AP/AR work throughout the month to help take the load off of his plate to focus on more strategic work. 

Company offers an unlimited PTO policy and super flexible working arrangement, typically coming onsite as a team 2-3 times a month. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of general ledger entries.
• Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and statements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
• Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements and audit schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of budget reports and forecasts.
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
• Identify areas of opportunity for improving accounting processes and workflows.
• Participate in the implementation of new accounting software or systems when applicable.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or working towards CPA is a plus.
• 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Great Plains, etc.) preferred.
