Our client is looking for a Senior Business Analyst for a 6 month contract in Guelph.
This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities
• Provides a comprehensive range of I&IT business analysis services for clients with diverse business and technological needs.
• Interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their requirements through gathering, documenting, and analyzing business needs and requirements.
• Prepares and advises on business analysis policies, processes, best practices and standards to promote a comprehensive and consistent business analysis practice within the organization.
Qualifications
Mandatory Skills/Experience (4+ years experience):
i. Leads and conducts business analysis in order to assess client’s business problems/opportunities and documents the business requirements in such a way that I&IT solutions can be determined. These include use of UML in development of use cases, activity/sequence/state diagrams for capturing business process flows, workflows and documenting business, and system functional requirements.
ii. Conducts business modeling; use case modeling; conceptual and logical data modeling; process and data flow modeling; use case surveys; business rules definition and non-functional requirements definitions for IT systems under implementation.
iii. Develops sound processes for requirements gathering including but not limited to JAD sessions, interviews, mockups, etc.
iv. Has excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills.
v. Team player who is tactful, flexible, and is aligned on Client's project vision and direction. Keeps Client Project Manager up to date on work activities, risks and issues.
vi. Ability to translate business and data requirements into specifications sufficient for designing appropriate technology solutions including development of ETL requirement specifications enabling data sharing and data ingestion.
vii. Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards.
viii. Experience with Agile methodologies.
ix. Facilitate product backlog grooming, creation of Epics and user stories development; analysis and documentation of complex process flow and calculations; collaborating and support Client with prioritization of user stories.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
i. Detailed business analysis knowledge and hands-on experience related to soil management systems will be an asset.
ii. Meticulous, self-driven and able to self-manage work with limited supervision.
ii. experience with developing and executing RDBMS SQL queries
iii. Experience with DevOPS, and Waterfall methodologies.
iv. Knowledge and/or experience with ESRI spatial databases.
v. Develop future state lean process including change management.
vi. Provide input support to IT architects related to business and application architecture artefacts
vii. Experience managing requirement risks.
viii. QA test planning and execution.
ix. Experience with IT software tools such as Microsoft Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint, Figma, JIRA, Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel).
NOTE - Detailed business analysis knowledge and hands-on experience related to soil management systems will be an asset.
