Senior Application Developer (Splunk Expert) Location Vancouver, BC : Are you a Splunk expert? Are you passionate about Observability and Automation that will drive our future business at TELUS? Then, this is the role for you! Join our team and what we'll accomplish together. The successful candidate will join the API Marketplace team to administrate, support, and migrate the Splunk system. In this position, you will work closely with different Telus developer and operation teams to fulfill their requests. What you will do

• Implement and maintain Splunk infrastructures and configurations
• Monitor all system, applications, hosts, data ingestion, forwarder status, system health, license consumption
• All forwarder interactions with systems
• Manage and create applications for all of the above
• Collect and assess system metrics
• Customer interaction to determine requirements and success factors for requests
• Provides guidance and training to customers
• Create and maintain manageable processes and documentation for all aspects of administration and development
• Develop customized dashboards, search jobs, alerts, and data models
• Complete Splunk system installation, upgrade, and migration.

Qualifications

• Implementation/support of Enterprise Splunk experience is a must
• Deep understanding of Splunk architecture, including understanding of the components performance tuning
• Experience with monitoring solutions and methodologies, including server and network performance, hardware, and web synthetics
• Extensive knowledge of application or infrastructure systems architecture, usually having experience with multiple system technologies
• Exposure to database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, and networking infrastructure such as firewall, load balancers, DNS, active directory
• Outstanding verbal and written communication

Great-to-haves

• Splunk Administrator certification required
• Experience with advanced queries and data models
• Experience developing enterprise strategic implementation of Splunk deployments highly preferred
• Certified Splunk Architect or Engineer highly preferred
• Experience with cloud technologies like GCP with the monitor solutions it provided would be an asset
