Position: Sales Trainee

Hours: Full-time

Wage: Base wage based on experience and commission structure

Start Date: Immediately

Ideal candidate:The successful applicant will have interest in expanding on their customer service skills and knowledge of building materials, to grow into a specialized salesperson and further their access towards opportunities for career progression.

 Job duties:

• Engage with customers and understand their needs.
• Observe sales process, quotes, project costing, ordering through job shadowing, self-learning resources and practice on-the job under assigned supervision.
• Work towards gaining an in-depth knowledge of products, its functionality and maintain learning to stay to-date on nuances.
• Cross train across departments and actively engage in store promotions.
• Adhere to company loss prevention program.
• Following set out learning period, meet or exceed monthly sales targets by driving sales and repeat customers.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a customer facing role and/or enjoys interaction with people
• Work/recreational hands-on experience with building materials
• Reliable, energetic, outgoing individual with initiative and drive
• Valid class 5 driver’s licence
• Basic computer and mathematical skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work in a collaborative setting
• Adaptable to change and committed to continuous training and development
• Requires full range of body motion including standing, twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically lift and move items including 50-75lbs
