The Revenue Cycle Analyst supports the company’s mission, vision, and values by delivering accurate and actionable insights into revenue cycle performance, specifically patient access and self-pay balances. This role is responsible for analyzing financial and operational data, building and maintaining dashboards, and producing reports to support department and organizational goals. The Analyst works extensively with the Electronic Health Record (EHR), Epic, and leverages advanced Microsoft Excel skills to provide meaningful analysis and support key decision-making. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. The Analyst role requires excellent attention to detail, strong analytical background, ability to make recommendations on data findings, patterns and trends, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Epic-based dashboards and reports to monitor revenue cycle performance, with a primary focus on patient access and self-pay balances.
  • Use Microsoft Excel at an advanced level (pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling, charts/visualizations) to analyze trends and support process opportunities and operational improvements.
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle and Operational leaders to track, interpret, and present data that aligns with company and department KPIs and goals.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue cycle efficiency, cost savings, and improved patient financial experience.
  • Monitor billing, collections, denials, and other revenue cycle metrics to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis in response to leadership and department requests.
  • Ensure data integrity across Epic and reporting systems; troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with patient access, financial counseling, and other Revenue Cycle teams to improve reporting transparency and outcomes.
  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of the organization in all work performed.
  • Meet or exceed productivity and quality standards.
  • Support all other functions of the Revenue Cycle Team
  • Additional tasks required by leadership and/or company

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of Epic experience with dashboards and reporting.
  • 2 years of advanced Microsoft Excel experience (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, complex formulas, data visualization).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Prior revenue cycle experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
