Join our dynamic healthcare team in the picturesque town of Smithers, BC! Our community focused medical staff are committed to providing exceptional care to children and families in the region.
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a solo practice with support from the Pediatricians based in Terrace and Prince George. In addition to Family Physicians, there is a Psychiatrist and Radiologist located in Smithers and plenty of visiting specialist visits.
Bulkley Valley District Hospital is a 24 bed acute care facility providing emergency/outpatient, medical, surgical, maternity and palliative care services and has one psychiatric observation unit. The facility supports home and community care services, a strong community cancer clinic, and a diverse visiting specialist/surgeon program. It also offers lab and radiology (x-ray, mammography, ultrasound) and pediatric services.
The beautiful community of Smithers is located in the picturesque Bulkley Valley surrounded by three mountain ranges which provide a backdrop for the town's Alpine setting. The main industries include forestry, tourism, transportation and agriculture. Smithers offers affordable housing and natural splendor that supports a balanced lifestyle. There are golf courses, swimming, curling and skating rinks, fitness, mountain biking and hiking trails as well as world class skiing. The Smithers population is approximately 5,400 and there are three elementary schools, one secondary school and one alternate format school for grades 9 to 12. This is a wonderful place to raise a family and enjoy a balanced work / life at the same time.

Vacation Leave 6-8 weeks annually, including CME May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Retention Premium 20.02% Retention Flat Fee $30,382 Relocation Funding Available $$9,000-15,000.00 Recruitment Incentive $20,000 Other Benefits/Incentives Relocation: $15,000 if relocating from outside of Canada: $12,000 if relocating within Canada but outside of BC; $9,000 if relocating within BC.
