Job Requirements

  • Native-level English Speakers (no Japanese required)
  • Must currently reside in Tokyo
  • Must hold a current working visa
  • Available to work a minimum of 3-4 days a week, including Saturdays. Up to 5 days per week, including weekends, can be available.
  • Saturday work is required
  • Must have a Japanese bank account (Overseas online account are not accepted)
  • Experience teaching young children (Ages 0-8)
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Energetic, reliable, and enjoys working with children
  • TESOL/TEFL/CELTA/DELTA certification a plus

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented, passionate, and motivated teacher who enjoys teaching children ages 2–8 in a creative, supportive environment.

Successful candidates will run energetic, confidence-filled classes for children and motivate them to speak confident English throughout the lesson. Teachers are expected to create a positive, engaging classroom atmosphere where children feel encouraged to participate, express themselves, and build a love for learning.

The role also involves planning and delivering age-appropriate activities, working collaboratively with fellow teachers, and communicating warmly with parents. Our training and curriculum support will help you grow professionally while allowing you to bring your own creativity and teaching style into the classroom.

Position Details

  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 14:30–17:30 or 15:00–18:00 (schedule subject to change)
    Saturday 8:30-15:00 (1 hr break) flat rate: ¥10,000
  • Compensation: ¥1,500–2,000/hour (Previous qualifications and experience can affect the starting wage)
  • Weekday After School: One 90-minute class per day; the rest of the time for prep and overseeing students in after-care extension.
    Saturday School: A day of hands-on activities, creative play, and age-appropriate lessons.
  • Transportation allowance provided

Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging English lessons to children aged 2–8
  • Follow and implement the school’s structured curriculum
  • Prepare and lead age-appropriate lessons across multiple subjects, including Humanities, Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Science, and Math
  • Create a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom
  • Encourage students to use confident English during class activities
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with parents regarding student activities and progress
  • Take photos and assist in preparing monthly newsletters and school communications
  • Pick up students for the After School program and ensure their safety at all times
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff
  • Possible diaper changing and supervising toilet time
  • Be punctual, responsible, flexible, and professional
