Task Description A volunteer navigator is a person who works with persons living with serious illness and their families to facilitate connections, help to prolong independence, and promote quality of life.
This role involves establishing relationships with persons and their families to learn who they are and what is important to them. They then use this knowledge to help clients connect with people and resources in their communities through a “best fit,” culturally safe, family-centric approach.
All Nav-CARE volunteers must undergo a reference check and provide a vulnerable sector RCMP check.
Volunteers complete specialized orientation and training before meeting with clients.
