Hazen and Sawyer is seeking an Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Systems Engineer to join our team in one of the following offices: Cleveland, OH; Detroit, MI; Louisville, KY; Lexington, KY; or another Midwest office. The role involves delivering I&C designs for water and wastewater projects to our clients in the Midwest. Some remote work options may be available.
The candidate will develop I&C system designs for the water and wastewater industry, with potential responsibilities including Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming/configuration.
Key responsibilities include writing technical memoranda; developing Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), control system architecture drawings, and installation details; preparing instrumentation and control system specifications; estimating project costs; reviewing and approving contractor documentation; and conducting factory testing, field acceptance testing, and startup of I&C systems. Familiarity with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or willingness to learn is required.
The successful candidate will serve as the Lead Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer, overseeing project execution, mentoring entry-level staff, and coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
