We are excited to announce that Oakville Estates Retirement Residence, our newest and most Luxurious residence located in beautiful Oakville, Ontario, is seeking a dynamic and passionate Health and Wellness Director to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to lead in a state-of-the-art retirement residence and make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents while helping to shape the future of our newest location!

HEALTH AND WELLNESS DIRECTOR (Activities)

The Health and Wellness Director provides a comprehensive activity program for the benefit of each resident on a continuing basis. In this role you will be required to plan, direct, and coordinate the necessary activities for the activation Health & Wellness program within the residence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the health and wellness programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
• Manage and supervise staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Conduct assessments and develop individualized wellness plans for residents.
• Maintain accurate records and manage budgets related to wellness initiatives.
• Ensure effective communication with residents and families regarding health services.
• Provide training and support to staff on health and wellness best practices.
• Promote a culture of safety and well-being within the facility.

Requirements

• Diploma in recreation/leisure studies.
• Course(s) in Gerontology and Activities/Recreation are desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must have experience working in a retirement residence with both Independent and Assisted Living/Memory Care residents
• Knowledge of program development is an asset.
• Must be a Recreational Therapist
• License/Certification:
• First Aid Certification (preferred)
• Class 4 Driver’s License an asset
