Estimator – Multi-Family & Commercial Construction

Location: Edmonton, AB

Salary: $100,000 annually (depending on experience)

Our client, a growing and well-respected construction company based in Edmonton, is seeking a skilled and self-sufficient Estimator to join their team. This is a key leadership role where you’ll be solely responsible for managing all estimating functions across a portfolio of multi-family residential and commercial construction projects.

As the only Estimator in the company, this position offers a high level of autonomy and influence. You’ll work directly with the CEO and play a critical role in shaping project strategies, budgets, and execution plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all estimating efforts from concept to completion across multiple projects
• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for multi-family and commercial builds
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop thorough takeoffs and pricing
• Source, evaluate, and incorporate subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the CEO, to align estimates with company objectives
• Maintain and refine internal estimating tools and historical cost databases

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Proven experience as a construction Estimator, with strong knowledge of multi-family and commercial construction
• Comfortable working independently and owning the full estimating cycle
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• In-depth knowledge of Alberta construction standards and market pricing
