Job Description

Your New Company

Join a leading multidisciplinary design and construction firm that’s redefining how buildings are imagined and delivered. With a culture built on innovation, collaboration, and personal growth, this team offers more than just a job—it’s a place to thrive. Located in downtown Vancouver, the open-concept office encourages creativity and connection, while flexible hours and wellness initiatives support a balanced lifestyle. From continuing education and mentorship to global volunteer programs and sustainability efforts, this company is deeply committed to making a positive impact—on its people and the world. Regular social events, like BBQs and hiking trips, keep the vibe fun and community-driven.

Your New Role

As the Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and execution of electrical systems for a wide range of building projects. You will work within a collaborative team of architects, engineers, and construction professionals to deliver integrated solutions that meet client needs and regulatory standards. Your role will involve both conceptual and detailed design, as well as project management responsibilities throughout the full project lifecycle.

You will coordinate the development of working drawings and technical specifications, ensuring alignment with internal teams and external stakeholders. You will also conduct site inspections, manage contract administration, and oversee construction reviews to ensure quality and compliance. A key part of your role will be assessing existing electrical systems, preparing condition reports, and providing technical advisory services to clients. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will play a leadership role in project delivery. This includes managing timelines, budgets, and resources, as well as maintaining strong communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. You will also be expected to identify new business opportunities and support the growth of the firm’s building renewal portfolio.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you must be a registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng) in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of five years of experience in the design and delivery of building electrical systems. You should have a strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code, the BC Building Code, and the National Building Code of Canada. Experience with feasibility studies, tender documentation, commissioning, and condition assessments is essential. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Familiarity with the full project lifecycle—from design through to construction and close-out—is critical. Proficiency in design and project management software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Procore, and ECompliance will be considered an asset.

What You'll Get in Return

In return, you will join a dynamic and inclusive organization that values innovation, professional development, and work-life balance. The company offers a competitive compensation package of $110K-$150K , including a comprehensive group benefits plan with health and dental coverage, a Health Care Spending Account, and an Employee Assistance Program. You will also benefit from a group RRSP matching program, support for continuing education and certifications, and a parental leave top-up program for new and expecting parents.

What You Need to Do Now

If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and contribute to meaningful, high-profile projects in a collaborative and innovative environment, we want to hear from you. Apply today or contact your Hays consultant, Katty Kedrov for more information on this exciting opportunity.
