ABOUT BRODIE LEAGUE

Brodie League is more than a basketball league, it’s a movement. As one of North America’s fastest-growing sports brands, Brodie League is redefining adult recreational basketball by delivering an NBA-level experience for everyday athletes.

35,000 athletes. 10-plus cities. Millions of views.

Now we need someone to make the machine run flawlessly.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Director of Basketball Operations is the architect and owner of Brodie League’s operational excellence. This is a high-accountability, high-visibility leadership position for a systems-driven operator who thrives on scaling processes, leading teams, and driving performance across multiple locations.

Think NBA Finals energy every night, in every location. That’s the Brodie Standard.

You will oversee and coach a team of District Managers, General Managers, and League Managers, ensuring flawless nightly execution and sustained athlete growth. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Tech, Marketing, and Brand to ensure alignment with company objectives, while forecasting growth and optimizing for efficiency. Your mission: build a world-class operational engine that powers Brodie League’s growth and athlete experience.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Hire, train, and mentor District Managers, General Managers, and League Managers
  • Build a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, adaptability, and speed
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure team alignment with Brodie’s standards
  • Drive leadership development, building the next generation of Brodie operators

Strategic Leadership & Accountability

  • Own the performance, growth, and scalability of all league operations across all locations
  • Translate company vision and KPIs into actionable operational strategies and seasonal plans
  • Audit and refine systems to ensure efficiency, reliability, and predictability across all locations
  • Track and report on key metrics (player retention, registration growth, staff performance, operational excellence)
  • Identify bottlenecks, propose process upgrades, and lead implementation

Sales, Revenue & Retention

  • Partner with Marketing to drive registration and revenue growth season-over-season
  • Own location-level P&L performance, focusing on profitability and operational efficiency
  • Develop strategies to increase athlete retention, referrals, and lifetime value
  • Monitor lead funnels, conversion rates, and waitlists, and deploy local tactics to maximize growth

Game Day Operations & Systems

  • Ensure all locations deliver flawless game nights with consistent standards of excellence
  • Oversee implementation of league-wide playbooks, operating timelines, and checklists
  • Lead post-night and post-season reviews to identify wins, risks, and system improvements
  • Support locations in solving operational escalations and critical incidents

Player Experience & Event Standards

  • Maintain the gold standard for athlete experience — from jersey pickup to finals night
  • Ensure player feedback is gathered, analyzed, and acted on across locations
  • Drive the development of signature events (Finals, All-Star, activations) to boost engagement
  • Ensure every night feels like a show — exciting, efficient, and unforgettable

Logistics, Systems & Scaling

  • Oversee league logistics including facility contracts, jersey distribution, and content kit deployment
  • Maintain relationships with key vendors, partners, and facilities to secure optimal terms and access
  • Lead system upgrades (tech, scheduling, reporting)
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety protocols, and operational policies

Tech Collaboration & Automation

  • Partner closely with the tech team to identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and administrative work
  • Provide feedback and insights from operations to inform product development and improve workflows
  • Lead adoption and training for new tools or systems that increase efficiency across locations

REQUIREMENTS

  • 8–10+ years of experience in operations management, sports management, or multi-location leadership
  • Proven ability to scale teams and systems while maintaining exceptional quality
  • Strong experience managing P&L, logistics, and location-level performance
  • Demonstrated success in leading leaders and developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Highly organized, data-driven, and comfortable making decisions under pressure

BENEFITS AND PERKS

  • Comprehensive health and wellness plan
  • Access to NBA events and industry networking opportunities
  • Significant growth opportunities

APPLY IF…

You’re a builder, a leader, and a culture-setter. You thrive on scaling systems, coaching teams, and turning chaos into clarity. You believe that game night should feel like a pro sports production and are ready to make that a reality across every Brodie location.

This isn’t just operations — it’s leadership at the highest level. If you’re ready to shape the future of recreational sports and own the athlete experience at scale, we want you.
