About the Role

We’re looking for a Digital Designer to join Love Ur Curls®—someone who genuinely loves creating for the digital space and for beauty. You have a sharp eye for what makes design work and an equally strong ability to bring it to life with precision. You thrive on the tactical side: executing clean, conversion-minded design that drives results. You’re not precious about revisions or iterations—you see them as part of the process of co-creating beautiful, effective digital design. Your skill set is broad, but you are particularly good at creating graphics for social media, email, web, and paid digital media. Any experience with packaging/label design and/or print media will be considered an asset! As a key member of the Brand Marketing team, your role will be critical in conceptualizing creative ideas in a collaborative environment and bringing the Vice President of Brand’s ideas to life. Some projects will require end-to-end development while others require revision and execution. Out-of-the-box thinking, obsessive attention to detail, and experience working with creative paid media are a must. On a day-to-day, you will brainstorm new ideas and execute various design and editing projects for different members of the marketing function.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a hands-on, executional role. The Digital Designer will bring direction to life with speed, accuracy, attention to detail and adaptability.

Design Execution

  • Execute digital-first assets—including graphics, motion, and short-form video—for social media, email, web, and digital advertising.
  • Edit and retouch imagery (e.g., background removal, color adjustments, extensions) of static and user-generated content to deliver polished, high-quality creative.
  • Deliver design support for occasional print and sales materials (e.g., inserts, labels, flyers, internal decks) while adhering to brand guidelines and production specs.

Brand Steward

  • Translate marketing briefs into clear, on-brand visuals that support campaigns and key business initiatives, ensuring brand consistency across all platforms and channels.
  • Adapt and implement design solutions that align with Love Ur Curls’ brand standards and seasonal campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Growth teams to ensure all design outputs reinforce brand storytelling and performance goals.
  • Proof and review assets carefully to ensure error-free execution before release.

Workflow Management

  • Meet project deadlines reliably, managing multiple assignments while preserving creative integrity.
  • Maintain organized libraries of working files, templates, and final assets to optimize workflow and team productivity.
  • Communicate clearly with team members, providing timely updates and flagging potential challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Media, Visual Arts, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience

  • 2 - 5 years of professional design experience, ideally within a DTC, CPG, or beauty brand.
  • Experience creating digital assets for social, email, web, and paid digital media campaigns. Agency experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma or similar software.
  • Solid foundation in branding, layout design, typography, composition, and digital storytelling.
  • Solid digital portfolio showcasing polished, executional work.
  • Basic animation skills (GIFs and simple motion graphics) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS is not required but considered an asset.
  • Experience with packaging/label design and/or print media considered an asset.
