Job Description

Tantus Solutions Group is seeking a versatile Consultant to join our team, bridging both Professional Services and Cybersecurity. This role requires a balance of analytical skills, strong communication and facilitation ability, and foundational cybersecurity expertise. You will work alongside Senior consultants and closely with Tantus’ Director of Cybersecurity to support client’s strategic initiatives, while also contributing and supporting the improvement of their security posture, governance frameworks and practices. This role is ideal for a professional with 3 to 5+ years of experience who brings both strategic thinking and practical understanding of cybersecurity. The ideal candidate has worked with a range of clients, including municipal governments, postsecondary institutions, and other sectors and is confident in facilitating stakeholder engagements, conducting assessments, and delivering actionable recommendations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support and lead components of client-facing projects across strategy, governance and technology areas.
  • Conduct cybersecurity and IT governance assessments for a range of clients.
  • Support the design and delivery of tabletop exercises, risk scenarios, and incident simulations.
  • Develop and refine security policies, governance frameworks, and control recommendations based on industry standards
  • Engage directly with client stakeholders through workshops, interviews, and facilitation sessions to gather insights and present findings.
  • Draft reports, executive summaries, policies and other deliverables tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on engagements requiring a mix of business, technical, and compliance expertise.
  • Assist in the development of proposals and internal materials.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience in a professional services, management consulting, cybersecurity, or analytical role preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience facilitating sessions and engaging a variety of client stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing abilities required.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, governance models, and control frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience working with clients in municipal, post-secondary, or broader public/private sectors.
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, actionable recommendations. • Strong technical understanding required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of tools such as Power Bi, Visio etc. is an asset.
  • University degree in Business Technology Management, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Cybersecurity certifications such as

  • ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), GIAC Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies
  • Rogers CyberSecure Catalyst – Certifications for Leadership in Cybersecurity (CLIC) Project

Management certifications or interest in pursuing Project Management certificates is an asset. Desired certifications are as follows:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)

LOCATION: Edmonton, Alberta

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Permanent Employment (Full-Time)

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Onsite – some client travel may be required, depending on project scope and client requirements.
