Children’s Ministry Director

Chinese Gospel Church – Scarborough English Congregation, a member of The Associated Gospel Churches, is looking for a part-time Children’s Ministry Director.

Chinese Gospel Church Scarborough is a growing English congregation of approximately 225 people.  We serve the children of both our own and the Mandarin congregation, with an approximate average of 75 children from JK to Grade 8 each week.  There are dedicated volunteers serving as teachers and assistants during our Sunday School time, but the church requires a Children’s Ministry Director to help organize and improve the vision and implementation of our children's ministry.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the lead pastor, implement and regularly review the ministry plan for the children from JK to grade 8
• Recruit, develop, schedule, and train teachers and assistants to teach the Sunday school program
• Facilitate parent training to disciple their children to have a living and growing faith
• Participate in team meetings
• Help organize and potentially implement the summer camp ministries with adjusted hours
• Plan for special children’s programs and events

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in children’s ministry is a necessity, but experience as a children’s ministry director is not required
• Must have a growing personal faith in Jesus Christ.  Must demonstrate spiritual maturity.
• Must have a passion for children’s ministry, and a clear ability to express the gospel winsomely to children
• Strong communication, interpersonal and administrative skills
• Faith and doctrine must align with CGCS’ Statement of Faith
• Bible college/seminary training is an asset
• Fluency in English is required, ability to communicate in spoken Mandarin is an asset

Start Date:Immediate

Hours:  15 hours a week (depending upon availability)

Pay:Commensurate with previous experience and education
