Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese (N2 & above; N3 acceptable if able to read and speak) and a strong background in the life insurance industry. The role involves facilitating Agile practices across cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Agile ceremonies: Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives
• Coach teams on Agile principles and Scrum practices
• Collaborate with Product Owners to manage and prioritize backlogs effectively
• Remove impediments and foster a culture of continuous improvement
• Ensure alignment between development teams and life insurance business stakeholders
• Use tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and PowerBI for tracking and reporting
• Communicate effectively in English and Japanese to bridge gaps between global teams and clients

Mandatory Skills

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese
• Strong understanding of life insurance products, processes, and regulations
• Scrum Master certification (SAFe Scrum Master, PSM, or equivalent)
• Experience with Agile tools (JIRA, Rally, etc.)
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., Leading SAFe)
• Prior experience with distributed or multicultural teams
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the insurance sector

Qualifications
